
The Prime Minister-designate, Rishi Sunak, has officially formed government with the King, Charles III, on Tuesday, after meeting the King at Buckingham Palace.
Newsonline reports that Rishi Sunak, was on Monday elected the Conservative Party leader, a position which automatically qualifies him as the prime minister-designate.
On Tuesday, the Royal Family announced on its Twitter handle that Rishi has met King Charles III and has accepted to form government.
The statement read, “The King, Charles III received The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP at Buckingham Palace today.
“His Majesty asked him to form a new Administration. Mr. Sunak accepted His Majesty’s offer and was appointed Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury.”
Sunak is an Indian-British parliamentarian, who represents the constituency of Richmond (Yorks).
