Governor Uzodimma
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that fresh cracks have reportedly emerged within the ruling All Progressives Congress following the alleged factionalisation of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).
The division reportedly surfaced after the forum’s chairman and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, was said to have been removed from his position on Thursday.
Despite the reports, Uzodimma has reportedly maintained that he remains the authentic chairman of the PGF.
Meanwhile, Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State are said to be leading a separate faction within the forum.
Reports indicated that another bloc within the PGF has aligned with Abiodun and AbdulRazaq, deepening the internal divide among APC governors ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to reports monitored on Arise News, the exact cause of the disagreement remains unclear, although sources within the party claimed tensions had been building over leadership control and political positioning ahead of the next election cycle.
As of the time of filing this report, neither faction had issued an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the split.
