#Endbadgovernance Protesters have stormed Former President Buhari’s House in Daura.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that angry protesters gathered at the residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State, on Thursday as part of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide demonstration.

The protest, which turned violent in some states and led to fatalities, prompted at least three Governors to declare curfews.

The mob attempted to break into Buhari’s residence, expressing their frustration with the country’s economic situation. Witnesses reported that the protesters set up a bonfire in front of the house and chanted loudly. Video footage showed young people shouting “Bama yi! Bama yi! Bama yi!” – a Hausa phrase meaning “we don’t want,” commonly used in protests.

An unidentified person from Buhari’s residence addressed the protesters, asking them to select one representative to speak on camera, promising to show the video to the former President. Following this, the protesters moved to the palace of the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar Farouk. Security operatives shot one protester in the leg while attempting to disperse the crowd, but the protesters remained defiant.

Security has been intensified in Daura following the incident.
