Peter Obi has reacted to EFCC invitation over #PandoraPapers.

Newsonline understands that news broke over the weekend suggesting that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is set to open investigations into several Nigerian Politicians named in the Pandora Papers Investigative report including former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi.

Reacting to the alleged EFCC invitation, Peter Obi said that he is yet to receive a formal invitation from the commission of the Economic and Financial Crime, EFCC.

Newsonline Nigeria understands that several news sources reported over the weekend that the anti-graft commission invited the former vice presidential candidate to face questioning over his secret business dealings and offshore accounts exposed in the Pandora papers leak.

The former governor, in a press release by his media Office, Valentine Obienyem, said a reaction which quoted him as requesting the EFCC to make their investigations public, among other remarks did not emanate from him.

He said: “Obi is yet to receive the letter from the EFCC, which he read on social media like others.

“From what is circulating, the letter appears to have been sent to an office he is no longer part of and is yet to reach him.”

Meanwhile, Newsonline had earlier reported that the former Anambra governor admitted having secret offshore accounts during an Interview on Arise TV earlier this month. He disclosed that he had about $15 million stashed in them for his family.
