Opposition Leader, Peter Obi
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, threw down a daring gauntlet to his critics: prove he’s corrupt, and he’ll quit the 2027 presidential race.
Speaking in a no-holds-barred interview on Channels Television with Seun Okinbaloye during a live political segment, Peter Obi dismissed allegations linking him to any corrupt practices, whether in public office or private business.
“I am not part of any criminal gang,” Obi said firmly. “My records, both as a businessman and as a two-term governor of Anambra State, are clean. If anyone, I mean anyone, can show that I stole even one kobo at any point in my life, I will withdraw from the 2027 presidential race immediately.”
The statement comes amid mounting political pressure and growing attacks from opposition camps, some of whom have questioned Obi’s integrity and political alliances.
With this bold declaration, Obi has not only defended his legacy but also challenged opponents to back their claims with evidence or keep silent.
