Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Osun Governorship election, is winning the incumbent governor Oyetola by 17 local Council Areas.

 

Newsonline reports that Governor Gboyega Oyetola won 13 local governments so far, as collation continues in the election that voting ended yesterday, (Saturday, July 16).

 

The INEC National Commissioner, INEC, for the Osun gubernatorial election, Professor Kunle Ajayi has also promised Osun citizens that INEC will ensure there is no case of manipulation or inconclusive election.

 

Among all results so far announced at the INEC Collation Centre in Osogbo, the PDP candidate Ademola Adeleke, who is the uncle of Music Star, Davido won in 17 Local Government Areas while, his closest rival, incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola, secured victory in 13 LGAs.

Prof Kunle Ajayi, gave the assurance shortly after protesters stormed the INEC office to demand that the exercise be concluded on the first ballot.

 

The protesters did not gain access to the collation center but they vowed to resist any rerun just like it happened in 2018 when the two leading candidates in this election went head to head.
