Nyesom Wike has vowed to ensure that Ireti Kingibe don’t return as FCT Senator.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his stance that Ireti Kingibe will not return to the Senate as the representative of the FCT.
Speaking during a media chat with journalists in Abuja, Wike criticized the senator’s performance, accusing her of lacking accountability and failing to deliver effective public service.
“Senator Ireti Kingibe won’t come back as senator of the FCT, and I still stand by it,” Wike stated.

The minister also dismissed claims by Kingibe that she had attempted to contact him but was unable to reach him.
“I don’t even know her number. I’m not the man who pretends. I don’t pretend, and I know I don’t pretend. I told you, mark it today. Today is what? Second of March. Look, you know my report card will show. Your report card should also show. What did you do as a senator when you were?” he said.
Wike emphasized that governance should be driven by measurable performance and tangible results, stressing the importance of collaboration rooted in accountability.
“I want to go to satellite towns, communities, so people can see what has been done. I’m not here to abuse anyone. I want to collaborate.
“But collaborate on what? Nobody says I’m not a minister. If I’m a senator, make sure you do well. We shouldn’t be taking ideas for granted,” he added.
The comments highlight ongoing political tensions within the FCT as debates over representation and performance continue ahead of future elections.
