NNPCL has stopped petrol supply to independent marketers amid a fuel price surge.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has stopped the sale of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol), otherwise known as Petrol or fuel to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), following a significant surge in fuel prices on Tuesday.

Fuel prices at major filling stations have skyrocketed, reaching between N855 and N1000 per liter in cities like Abuja, Lagos, Delta, and Enugu.

Independent marketers have responded with even higher rates, selling petrol at N1,200 to N1,300 per liter in some states.

Despite these increases, many stations across the country are not dispensing fuel, adding to public frustration.

Hammed Fashola, National Vice President of IPMAN, confirmed the suspension of fuel supply to independent marketers, stating, “Yes, our tickets were suspended for loading. They have not been attending to us since yesterday, and there is no official communication yet.”

As of the time of this report, IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Maigandi, and NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, had yet to comment on the situation.

Despite the price hike, NNPCL has yet to officially address the situation.
