Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has declared a work-free day to ensure residents of the state collect their permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) from INEC designated centers.
NewsOnline reports that the public holiday according to a statement released by the state government will be on Wednesday.
The work-free day, Mrs Susan Modupe announced is to enable civil servants to get their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which will ensure their participation in the upcoming general elections.
This was announced in a statement in Ilorin on Tuesday by the Kwara State Head of Service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole.

“All those that are yet to get their voter cards are admonished to immediately do so before the expiration of the collection date,” she stated.
Oluwole said Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq enjoined the civil servants and residents to use the public holiday to ensure they do not disenfranchise themselves in electing leaders of the state and the country.
