Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has declared Lagos Governorship ambition.

NewsOnline Nigeriareports that the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 Lagos governorship election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has hinted at the possibility of contesting again in 2027.

During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Rhodes-Vivour expressed his determination to pursue his ambition of becoming the Governor of Lagos State, emphasizing that he would not give up on his goal.

Although he did not confirm whether he would remain with the Labour Party or contest under a different political platform, Rhodes-Vivour highlighted the need for unity among opposition parties to strengthen their chances.

In the 2023 election, Rhodes-Vivour garnered 312,329 votes, finishing second to Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 762,134 votes.

“By God’s grace, yes,” he stated when asked about his intention to join the 2027 governorship race in Lagos State.

“I believe that if all parties do not come together, it is going to be a waste of time running in 2027 because there is a full state capture happening in this country now.

“We cannot afford for the opposition to be separate. For now, my job is to ensure that I have a strong party – Labour Party,” he added.
