Former President Buhari is currently undergoing serious medical treatment in UK amid renewed health concerns.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is currently receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom, following a reported deterioration in his health.
Buhari, who left Nigeria in April 2025 for what was initially described as a routine medical check-up, has remained in the UK due to complications that emerged shortly after his arrival, according to sources close to his family.
According to PREMIUMTIMES, the 82-year-old former leader was admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) last week but has since been moved out, a development confirmed by Empowered Newswire.
In a related development, Mamman Daura, a close uncle and longtime confidant of Buhari, is also said to be receiving medical care in London.

Buhari’s extended stay abroad caused him to miss key events, including the 50th anniversary celebration of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) last month. In a public statement, he cited ongoing medical appointments in the UK as the reason for his absence.
Since leaving office in May 2023, Buhari has resided in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. However, he has not returned to Nigeria since departing in April, prompting fresh speculation about his health and possible return date.
Throughout his presidency from 2015 to 2023, Buhari made several trips to the UK for medical treatment, drawing criticism over his prolonged absences and the state of Nigeria’s healthcare infrastructure. Notably, one of his stays in 2017 lasted over 100 days.
While sources indicate he is responding to treatment, details about his current condition and the facility managing his care remain undisclosed. As of now, there has been no official communication from the Nigerian government regarding his health status.
