NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Takai Shamang who also served as the President General of the National Union of Electricity and Gas Workers, now known as the National Union of Electricity Employees, from 1982 to 1989, was reportedly whisked away from his native place, Biniki, located in the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Shamang, who is 78 years old, was also the President and Founder of the Gantys Aid for Widows, Orphans and Needy Foundation, better known as the GAWON Foundation.

“The community and family members are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in his safe return,” she told Daily Trust, adding that the family, friends, and well-wishers of Comrade Shamang remain hopeful for a positive resolution and his safe return home.

Comrade Shamang, known for his extensive philanthropic work and dedication to the Labour Congress, is said to be a well-respected figure in the community.

However, the Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has not issued any official statement regarding the incident.
