Former Nigerian Minister, Yusuf Maitama is dead.

 

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Former minister, Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf is dead. He died aged 76.

 

This Nigeria news platform understands that Yusuf, a former Senator from 1999-2007, died in the early hours of Friday at his residence in Kano after a brief illness.

A family member, Alhaji Hussani Dalhatu, confirmed his death to newsmen.

 

He said the late Sardauna of Dutse’s funeral prayer would take place after Jumu’at prayer at the Emir of Kano’s palace.

 

Yusuf was born in Gwaram, Jigawa State, in 1947. He was Minister of Interior in 1981 and Minister of Commerce in 1982.
