BREAKING: EFCC Under Fire, Urged To Probe Former President Buhari

Yesufu suggests that Buhari should also face prosecution alongside his former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.

EFCC has come under fire and urged to probe Former President Buhari.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Aisha Yesufu, a prominent social activist, has raised a significant point regarding the recent allegations surrounding aviation contracts during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Yesufu suggests that Buhari should also face prosecution alongside his former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika.

The call for joint accountability follows the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) intensified legal actions against Sirika, who stands charged along with family members and business associates for corrupt practices.

Among the charges are allegations of conferring undue advantages on Sirika’s brother and his company, Enginos Nigeria Limited, within the aviation sector. The EFCC’s allegations include payments for aviation contracts that have not been fulfilled, with no evidence of work completed to date.

The controversy deepened with current Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, denouncing the Nigeria Air project initiated during the Buhari administration as fraudulent. Keyamo cited secrecy and mismanagement surrounding the project, which aimed to establish a national carrier and enhance national pride.

In her statement on social media, Yesufu criticized the singular focus on Sirika, asserting that failure to address Buhari’s involvement would amount to selective prosecution. “Prosecuting Hadi Sirika without prosecuting Muhammadu Buhari is selective prosecution,” Yesufu emphasized, advocating for equal probe of all implicated parties in the alleged corruption.
