Deputy Governor Shuaibu has dared Governor Obaseki as he formally joined the Edo Guber race.

 

Newsonline Nigeria reports that Philip Shuaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, has announced his intention to run for governor on the Peoples Democratic Party platform in the next 2024 election, stating that no one can stop him.

 

The deputy governor, who made his announcement at the Bishop Kelly Centre in Benin, said he is a homeboy who understands the people’s plight and urged the electorate and party members to support his desire.

He said that after 30 years in politics and seven years of working with Governor Godwin Obaseki to rebuild the state, he was in the best position to succeed his principal.

 

“Nobody can stop my ambition,” he declared.

 

If elected governor of the state in 2024, the deputy governor has promised to provide practical governance.

 

He stated this on Monday during a live broadcast in which he declared his intention to run for Governor of Edo.

 

The date of the election had previously been confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as September 21.
