APC has postponed NEC and Caucus meetings indefinitely.

Newsonline Nigeria reports authoritatively that the ongoing National Working Committee (NWC) Meeting of the ruling APC presided over by the newly appointed Acting National Chairman, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, has indefinitely postponed the Party’s National Caucus and NEC  meetings originally scheduled for July 18 and 19, 2023.

This Nigeria News understands that Kyari’s emergence as Acting National Chairman on Monday followed the resignation of  former APC Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Sunday night.

The National Secretary of the Party,  Iyiola Omisore, less than  24 hours after, followed Senator Adamu’s path by stepping down for the Deputy National Secretary,  Festus Fuanter, to emerge as Acting Secretary.

Reasons for the indefinite postponement of the Caucus and NEC meetings remain uncertain as the NWC was still  meeting in Abuja at the time of filing the report. But the APC has been in the news since Sunday night following Adamu’s resignation as first exclusively reported by PBA. The July 18 and 19 meeting were originally scheduled to hold last week but was later moved to this week by the former chairman who some NWC members said did not have an agenda for the meeting. There were also other issues bordering on the transparency of the Party’s 2022 Audit report.

Newsonline Nigeria Correspondent  who monitored the events as the NWC meeting had reported that Omisore actually came to the office but was asked by the NWC members to leave immediately.
