NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
Ganduje, who served as Governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023, cited health reasons for his abrupt departure, stating in his resignation letter that he needs to “focus on personal well-being.”
However, there are feelings within the party that suggest the resignation may not be solely health-related.
There is mounting political tension within the APC and growing dissatisfaction among party stakeholders may have played a significant role in his decision to vacate the chairmanship.
Ganduje’s tenure as APC National Chairman, which began in August 2023, was marked by persistent factional disputes and leadership challenges.
His appointment came at a time when the party was grappling with internal divisions, and his leadership style often drew both support and criticism from different quarters of the party.
