BREAKING: Agba Jalingo Remanded In Kuje Prison

Judge Zainab Bage Abubakar of the Federal High Court in Abuja remanded the journalist to Kuje prison for cybercrime.

Agba Jalingo has been remanded in Kuje prison.

 

NewsOnline reports that Agba Jalingo, a Nigerian journalist on trial for treason, has been remanded in Kuje prison from Monday and will remain there until Thursday.

 

Judge Zainab Bage Abubakar of the Federal High Court in Abuja remanded the journalist to Kuje prison for cybercrime.

 

According to reports, after Jalingo was charged for cyberstalking, Justice Abubakar allegedly refused his lawyers the opportunity to file a plea for bail.

Jalingo was accused of defaming Elizabeth Ayade, the wife of Frank Ayade, who is a brother of Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade. He bas been remanded to Kuje prison until Thursday.

Jalingo, the publisher of CrossRiverWatch, was arrested on August 22, 2019, over a report alleging that Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, diverted N500 million belonging to the state.
