This Nigeria news platform understands that Obasogie replaced Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who pulled out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games.

Nigeria will face Lesotho and Zimbabwe in a doubleheader encounter on Thursday, November 16, and Sunday, November 19, respectively.
Obasogie has played a crucial role for the Benin Arsenals since their return to the top flight in 2022.
The 23-year-old shot stopper helped the Monday Odigie’s side win the 2023 Federation Cup and qualified the team for the preliminary rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup.
