No Victor, No Vanquish, Democracy Won - Oyetola Reacts

The Osun State Election Tribunal judgment that sacked Governor Adeleke has been described as magic of the judiciary and a sad day for democracy by Senator Shehu Sani.

NewsOnline reports that Shehu Sani said nothing but an attempt to rig the decision of Osun State citizens and residents who en mass on July 16, 2022, elected Senator Ademola Adeleke to be their governor.

Reacting to the judgment, the former senator of Kaduna Central said, “Osun state; Judicial magic. A sad day for Democracy.”

Sani added that the decision of the Osun State Election Tribunal to rule against people’s mandate by recognizing former governor Gboyega Oyetola who lost overwhelmingly at the poll against Adeleke is a bad signal for the general elections coming in February and March of 2023.

“Osun state; a dangerous signal for the 2023 elections. A peoples mandate beheaded by Judicial voodoo,” Sani added.

However, Governor Ademola Adeleke – an uncle to celebrity hip-hop star, Davido – has called on residents of the state to remain calm. He assured that victory given to him by the citizens cannot be taken. He further disclosed that the decision of Tribunal will be appealed.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let everyone be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate. God bless Osun!” Governor Adeleke said.
