ADC has announced timetable for 2026 Nationwide Congresses and National Convention.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released the official timetable for its 2026 nationwide congresses and National Convention as part of efforts to renew the party’s leadership structures across the country.

In a statement issued by the party, the ADC said the scheduled activities form part of its constitutional obligation to reorganise and strengthen leadership at all levels of the party.

According to the party, the congress process will begin at the grassroots and move through different tiers of the party structure, starting from polling units and wards, then progressing to the local government and state levels before culminating in the National Convention.

The party noted that the congresses are designed to deepen internal democracy, encourage wider participation among members, and reposition the organisation ahead of future political activities.

As approved by the party leadership, the timetable for the congresses is as follows:

Polling Unit and Ward Congresses: Tuesday, 7 April 2026

Local Government Area Congresses: Thursday, 9 April 2026

State Congresses: Saturday, 11 April 2026

National Convention: Tuesday, 14 April 2026

The ADC urged members nationwide to participate actively in the exercise to ensure a transparent, peaceful, and credible process.

Party officials expressed optimism that the congresses and convention would further strengthen the internal structures of the ADC and position it for greater political engagement in the coming years.
