ACF Southwest Chapter Re-Elects Executives for Second Term After Vote of Confidence in Ogbomoso

State chairmen and returning executives also pledged renewed commitment, promising to work selflessly toward strengthening the ACF’s ideals of unity, peace, and progress across the region.

ACF Southwest Chapter has re-elected executives for a second term after a vote of confidence in Ogbomoso.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Southwest chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has re-elected its outgoing executives for a second three-year term following a unanimous vote of confidence during its executive council meeting held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Star Hotel and Suites, Sabo, Ogbomoso.

The meeting, presided over by Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko, reaffirmed the mandate of the outgoing leadership, whose initial tenure expired on September 10, 2025. Members of the Southwest executive committee voted overwhelmingly by a two-thirds majority to return the team for another term in line with the provisions of the forum’s constitution.

Those re-elected alongside Alhaji Tanko include Comrade Sani Salisu Danmuttaqa (Deputy Chairman), Comrade Gambo Ibrahim Muhammad (General Secretary), Comrade Ibrahim Abubakar Jagaba (Publicity Secretary), Comrade Ishaya Haruna (Auditor), Comrade Isah Abdullahi (Assistant Publicity Secretary), and Comrade Jamilu Ali Ahmad (Assistant Auditor), among others.

Delegates and state executives from the six southwestern states—Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, and Lagos—were all in attendance and actively participated in the proceedings. Most state chapters also revalidated their executives through similar votes of confidence, except for Ekiti State, which was deferred pending further consultations on a related matter.

The ACF Southwest chapter was officially inaugurated on September 10, 2022, at the Moshood Abiola Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, in a ceremony conducted by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, alongside the forum’s National Administrative Secretary, Alhaji Munir Mustapha. The event marked the establishment of the first ACF zonal structure in southern Nigeria.

In his acceptance remarks, Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko expressed gratitude for the renewed confidence, promising to lead with greater dedication and purpose.

“Our first term has been a period of learning and growth. With this renewed mandate, we are more prepared to advance the vision and unity of the Arewa Consultative Forum in the Southwest,” he said.

State chairmen and returning executives also pledged renewed commitment, promising to work selflessly toward strengthening the ACF’s ideals of unity, peace, and progress across the region.
