President Tinubu has announced and submitted the names of all NWDC Governing Board Members to the Senate.

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of the inaugural Governing Board members for the North West Development Commission (NWDC) to the Senate for confirmation.

 

This Nigeria news platform has obtained the NWDC Governing Board nominees submitted to the Senate by Tinubu and it includes the following:

Chairman: Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa)

MD/CEO: Professor Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano)

 

Members: Dr. Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto); Hon. Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi); Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara); Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna); Hon. Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano); Shamsu Sule (Katsina); and Nasidi Ali (Jigawa).

 

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Tinubu had recently assented to the bill sponsored by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, to accelerate development in the North West geopolitical zone, comprising Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Jigawa, Sokoto and Zamfara states.

 

The North-West Development Commission is set up to facilitate the reconstruction of roads, houses, and business premises destroyed by multidimensional crises and tackle poverty, literacy level, ecological problems, and any other related environmental or development challenges in North-West states.
