The England FA is going to appeal Lauren James’ red card that was given during the match against the Super Falcons.

Newsonline Nigeria report that Lauren James’ red card during the match against Nigeria, the English Football Association has issued an official statement. James was given a red card in the second half of the game after she stamped on Michelle Alozie. Due to the severity of the offense, she will be suspended for one game.

However, it is possible that FIFA will decide to take further disciplinary action against her, which could result in an extended ban. The FA takes these types of incidents very seriously and will always take appropriate action to ensure that the rules of the game are followed.

An FA spokesman has stated that James is very sorry for her actions, which led to the red card, and that it is completely out of character for her. The FA will be supporting James throughout the disciplinary process and will be putting forward representation on her behalf. The FA fully respects FIFA’s disciplinary process and will not be making any further comment until after any decision has been made. At present, the FA is awaiting the length of James’ suspension from FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee. It is worth noting that earlier in the tournament, Nigeria’s Deborah Abiodun served a three-match ban after being sent off during the Super Falcons’ first group-stage match.
