Federal Lawmakers’ Wives under the umbrella of the House of Representatives Members’ Spouses Association (HORMSA), has endorsed the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu.

Newsonline reports that HORMSA said Tinubu recognized the role of women as governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.

HORMSA president and wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Salamatu Gbajabiamila, stated this during a courtesy call the group paid to the wife of Bola Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who also doubles as the chairman of the Tinubu/Shettima Women Campaign Team in Abuja on Tuesday.

Mrs. Gbajabiamila said, “In 1999, when Asiwaju became Lagos State governor, it was not the norm to carry women along so strongly, but Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not think that only men were capable of fixing Lagos. He recognized and demonstrated that women are not insignificant.

HORMSA said with Tinubu as president of Nigeria in 2023, more women will be included in governance and political offices.

Gbajabiamila added that with the wealth of experience of the former governor of Lagos State, Nigeria under him will one of the best countries in the world.

Mrs. Gbajabiamila added that women of Nigeria believe in the capacity of Tinubu to turn the country around for good. She added that come 2023 election, Nigerian women will vote for the APC presidential candidate.

“With your and Asiwaju’s record, we have no doubt that women will be given more space to thrive if he is elected to office. Asiwaju believes in our capacity. He recognizes our strength and value. He knows democracy is incomplete if women are excluded. This is why we can rely on his promise to increase women’s participation to at least 35% of all government positions. If Asiwaju says he is promising that women will be adequately represented in government appointments, we believe him,” Mrs. Gbajabiamila added.
