Barcelona manager, Xavi, has commented on the worrying scenes involving a male fan collapsing in the stands during his side’s LaLiga 4-0 win against Cadiz on Saturday.
Newsonline report that the incident occurred during the closing minutes of the games, with Xavi’s men already leading Cadiz 2-0 at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.
Cadiz goalkeeper, Jeremias Ledesma, was seen sprinting across the pitch with a defibrillator and throwing it into the crowd during the dramatic incident.
After an extended stoppage, both teams were ordered to temporarily leave the pitch, but the fan was revived under medical treatment and taken to the hospital.
However, Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele doubled Barcelona’s advantage to give the visitors all three points as the restarted clash ended in a 4-0 win for the Catalan club.
Reacting, Xavi hoped the fan would recover, adding that health is above football.
