Yahaya Bello Bans Use Of Face-masks, Orders Shutdown of Brothels

Warns Local government chairmen on security breaches

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has ordered an immediate shutdown of all prostitutes’ brothels in the state, just as he banned the wearing of face masks in the public.

 

Newsonline reports that Bello gave the order following rising cases of insecurity in the state.

 

On Tuesday, in Lokoja, in a meeting with local government chairmen, first class and second class traditional rulers in the state, Governor Bello charged the council chairmen to ensure immediate execution of the orders.

 

Bello called on the traditional rulers to keep vigilance and monitor security situations in their communities.

 

He said, “Ensuring peaceful coexistence in your domain is your exclusive responsibility. You have the exclusive responsibility to ensure that all nooks and crannies of your areas are free from criminality of all sorts.”

Speaking to the council chairmen, the governor warned against the disruption of peace in the state by politicians no matter the irrespective of political persuasions.

 

“Let me sound a note of warnings to all politicians irrespective of political persuasions to desist from anything that could disrupt the peace we are currently enjoying in the state,” the governor warned.

 

Governor Bello thanked the security agencies for their collaboration with the state government to ensure peace in the state.

 

He called on the security agencies to partner with the state government in carrying out the orders.
