A former Commissioner in Adamawa State has been kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday, and a demand of N30 million is made to release the victim alive.
Newsonline reports that Babangida Abubakar Idris, a former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Planning in Adamawa, was kidnapped while in his community.
Babangida Idris was a former commissioner in the government of the immediate past administration of Governor Jibrilla Bindow.

A family source on Wednesday stated that the kidnappers contacted the family after hours of no information and made their ransom demand of N30 million.
The family sources narrated that the gunmen on Tuesday surrounded the home of Babangida Idris at Bajabure community in the Girei local government area near the state capital, Yola.
The source said the kidnappers shot the former Commissioner in the foot and wounded some others around the household before making away with him.
According to the family source, “What is now worrisome is that there was also an attack on him (Babangida Idris) during the last APC primaries when the victim escaped an attack by yet-to-be-identified persons who ended up smashing the victim’s windscreen.”
Adamawa State Police Command Spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the state command has received information about the kidnap of Babangida Idris.
He stated that the anti-kidnapping squads are already on their trails.
