Ohanaeze Ndigbo has taken over Peter Obi mantra, ‘take back Nigeria’ for the 2023 general election.
Newsonline reports that South-East Socio-cultural organization has slammed the ruling All Progressive Congress, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, for denying the region presidential candidate in the concluding party primaries.
Ohanaeze said it was clear that the two dominant parties do not take Ndigbo as worthy of the highest post in the land.
The Secretary-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, made the statement in response to the concluded primaries of PDP and APC.
Newsonline had reported that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, from Adamawa State, North-East, was elected the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate.
Also, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State, South-West, was elected by the ruling All Progressive Congress, as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 general election.
Ohanaeze said Ndigbo has been the only region that has maintained and championed unity in the Nigeria project, but regrets amid calls for Igbo presidency in 2023, by well meaning Nigerians, the ruling APC and the opposition PDP care more about Igbo loyalty and not equity and fairness.
