Technology company Golvia has unveiled a new social media platform designed to help creators, users and businesses convert online engagement into income-generating opportunities, with a focus on Africa’s growing digital economy.
Launched on August 11, 2026, the platform combines social networking, identity verification, creator monetisation and cross-border commerce in what the company describes as the “Global Wheel of Social Commerce.”
Golvia aims to address the monetisation challenges faced by African content creators and small businesses by providing tools that enable users to earn from their online activities, build audiences and access wider markets.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Izuchukwu Nwankpa, said the platform was developed to ensure that creators and everyday users receive greater economic value from the time and creativity they invest in social media.

“For too long, African creators and everyday users have been generating massive value for global social platforms without getting a fair share of the return. We built Golvia because people deserve more than just superficial likes for their time and creativity,” Nwankpa said.
He added that the platform seeks to address barriers affecting content monetisation and access to cross-border audiences by bringing monetisation, verified trust and digital trade into one ecosystem.
Unlike conventional social media platforms that primarily rely on advertising and user engagement, Golvia incorporates features such as identity verification, live streaming, virtual gifting, monetisation tasks, games, messaging, group chats and integrated commerce tools.
According to the company, creators can earn through virtual gifts received during live broadcasts, participate in structured earning activities and connect with brands through its social commerce features.
Small businesses can also use the platform as a digital storefront and advertising channel to promote their products and services to local and international customers.
Explaining the platform’s revenue model, Nwankpa said Golvia was designed to provide multiple income opportunities for creators while helping businesses reach potential customers without requiring complex digital infrastructure.
The platform also places emphasis on identity verification, allowing users to verify their identities to promote trust and authenticity when connecting, networking and conducting transactions online.
Golvia’s messaging and group chat features are designed to enable users to maintain conversations and build communities beyond the main social media feed.
Nwankpa said the company believes digital platforms should do more than collect user data and generate advertising revenue, arguing that the economic value created through online participation should translate into opportunities for the people driving that activity.
Since its launch, Golvia says it has attracted verified users across 14 countries in Africa, North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Its reported international presence includes Nigeria, Ghana, Lesotho, Kenya, South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Germany, India and Australia.
Although the platform has global ambitions, its founder said its development is rooted in the opportunities and challenges within Africa’s digital economy.
Under its “Africa to the World” vision, Golvia aims to equip African creators with live-streaming, virtual gifting and cross-border monetisation tools, while giving local businesses access to digital storefronts through which they can reach consumers beyond their immediate markets.
The company also sees direct creator-brand partnerships and cross-border commerce as important components of its strategy to connect African talent and businesses with the global digital economy.
Golvia is now open for user registration as it continues rolling out its features across different markets.
Interested users, creators and entrepreneurs can sign up or obtain further information through the platform’s website.
