Primate Ayodele has warned of more hardship, higher taxes in Nigeria and said that economy faces ‘time bomb’.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the spiritual head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned Nigerians to brace for more economic hardship and higher taxes, describing the country’s economic situation as a ticking time bomb.

Ayodele gave the warning in a video shared on social media on Saturday, where he predicted that the economic difficulties facing Nigerians could worsen in the coming months.

According to the cleric, ordinary citizens may face additional financial pressure as the government introduces more taxes, which he said could further affect low-income earners.

“Nigeria is sitting on an economic time bomb that could explode. The hardship Nigerians are experiencing now is nothing compared to the extraordinary hardship still coming. The government will implement more taxes,” he said.

He warned that the country’s economic situation could deteriorate further if urgent measures were not taken to address the challenges confronting citizens.

The cleric also suggested that the hardship could become more severe in 2027, urging the administration of President Bola Tinubu to pay attention to public concerns and reconsider policies he believes are worsening the economic burden on Nigerians.

Ayodele called on the Federal Government to listen to the complaints of citizens and take steps to ease the pressure on households and businesses.

The cleric is known for making predictions on political, economic and national issues, which have attracted public attention and debate.
