US-Based Jeweller has accused House of Reps Aspirant Olalekan Shogbesan of owing $5,200.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that a United States-based Nigerian jeweller, Shade Yusuf, popularly known as SSGoldJeweler, has accused House of Representatives aspirant Olalekan Adeleke Shogbesan, also known as Ojasope, of failing to pay an alleged $5,200 debt arising from a gold jewellery transaction.
Yusuf claimed that Shogbesan purchased gold chains from her in July 2022 and agreed to settle the bill within two weeks.
She alleged that despite making repeated demands over the past four years, the outstanding amount had not been paid.

The jeweller further claimed that she subsequently asked Shogbesan to return the items but that he allegedly declined to do so.
According to Yusuf, the dispute became more complicated after Shogbesan reportedly left the United States for Nigeria without settling the alleged debt.
She also alleged that the politician promised during a recent social media broadcast to pay the money by July 2026 but subsequently stopped responding to her messages.
The allegations are claims made by Yusuf and have not been independently verified. No documentary evidence or court ruling establishing the alleged debt was contained in the information made available for this report.
Efforts reportedly made to obtain Shogbesan’s response were unsuccessful, as his Nigerian telephone line was said to have been switched off.
Shogbesan had yet to publicly address the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
The controversy comes amid reports of his ambition to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The aspirant’s response is expected to provide further clarification about the transaction and whether the alleged debt remains outstanding.
