NNPCL has raised fuel pump price to N1,364 per litre after Dangote Refinery increase.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, following a fresh upward review of gantry prices by Dangote Refinery.

A market survey conducted in Abuja on Thursday showed that NNPCL retail outlets adjusted their petrol price to N1,364 per litre from N1,295, representing an increase of N69 per litre.

The new fuel price has already been implemented at several NNPCL filling stations, including those located in Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6, and Zone 4 in Abuja.

One of the attendants at an NNPCL outlet confirmed the development, saying, “We adjusted our pump price to N1,364 per litre from N1,295 this morning.”

Other filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, including MRS Oil Nigeria Plc and BOVAS Group, have also raised petrol prices to between N1,365 and N1,370 per litre.

The latest increase follows Wednesday’s decision by Dangote Refinery to raise its petrol gantry price by N75, from N1,200 to N1,275 per litre, citing the sharp rise in global crude oil prices to above $115 per barrel.

The fresh adjustment is expected to further impact transportation costs and the prices of goods and services across the country as Nigerians continue to grapple with rising inflation and energy costs.
