Tiwa Savage Sex Tape has resurfaced online after “It Was Circulated as a Bet” US interview.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tiwa Savage, has once again found herself at the center of controversy as her infamous 2021 sex tape resurfaces on social media, just days after she revealed in a U.S. interview that the clip was originally circulated as part of a bet.
The Grammy-nominated singer, who spoke candidly on The Breakfast Club about the painful ordeal, disclosed that her then-partner’s friends wagered over the video, leading to its leak. “He said he pressed send by accident, but later I found out it was actually a bet,” Savage revealed.

The new wave of circulation has reignited public debate, with many fans condemning those behind the resurfacing, describing it as a deliberate attempt to retraumatize the singer. Others have praised her for showing courage by speaking openly about an experience that almost derailed her career.
On social media platform X, hashtags such as #TiwaSavage and #SexTape began trending, with users split between defending her dignity and criticizing the insensitivity of those spreading the clip again.
Industry observers warn that the renewed circulation highlights the dangers of digital blackmail, online harassment, and the lack of accountability in Nigeria’s cyberspace.
Meanwhile, Savage, who disclosed that she has remained celibate for three years since the scandal, has yet to issue an official response to the tape’s reappearance.
Despite the backlash, the Koroba crooner remains one of Africa’s most influential music exports, recently headlining international concerts and working on new projects.
