“All invited applicants of the Superintendent cadre are to note that a Pre-Test exercise will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 3:00 pm. Applicants of the Inspectorate and Assistant cadres will be contacted subsequently for their Pre-Test exercise,” the statement read.
To enable participation, candidates will receive a dedicated Pre-Test link to log in and complete necessary procedures. The NCS explained that the exercise is designed to help applicants familiarize themselves with the testing system ahead of the nationwide Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Guidelines for Candidates
The Service outlined key steps for applicants:
Candidates must sign in, complete facial verification, and read the instructions at least 30 minutes before the test begins.
After the 30-minute log-in window, participants must click the START button to begin the Pre-Test.
The NCS urged candidates to strictly adhere to these rules to avoid disruptions during the exercise.
The ongoing recruitment exercise, approved in December 2024, aims to enlist 3,927 new personnel across the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres as part of efforts to modernize the Service’s workforce.
Out of 573,523 applications received, 286,697 candidates were shortlisted following document verification. Applicants were earlier directed to validate their registered email addresses, with the portal closing on September 18.
The nationwide CBT is scheduled to hold between September 14 and 21, 2025, with all shortlisted candidates expected to undergo a mandatory Pre-Test session two days before their assigned exam date.
