PDP Crisis: APC In Talks With Wike- Party Chieftain

It is still unsettled business for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, months after their primary election and months into the 2023 general election, as Nyesom Wike has fired back at Atiku over his statement regarding his choice of running mate.

Newsonline reports that Wike in a short but expository reply said the statement of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on why he chose Ifeanyi Okowa against Wike.

The former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in Arise Television interview said his reason for choosing Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate was because he wants someone that can deliver.

Atiku on Friday, while speaking to Arise TV said among the names given to him by the committee he set up, Okowa was the one that could deliver.

Atiku said, “I didn’t reject Wike, I picked who can deliver.”

Reacting to the statement of Atiku, Wike, governor of Rivers State, said the time has come for Nigerians to know the truth about what transpired during the PDP presidential primary.

Wike on his Twitter handle said, “I will speak soon and Nigerians will know the truth of all that has transpired in the PDP in recent times.”

Newsonline had reported that the governor of Rivers State came second in the PDP presidential election on May 28.
