Keyamo Speaks On His Removal As Minister By Buhari

Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has slammed the PDP for sacrificing the loyal South they have had since the return to democracy because of desperation to win Northern votes.

Newsonline reports that Keyamo said the desperation by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in chasing Northern votes to the neglect of the South was a costly miscalculation that will backfire in the 2023 general election.

Festus Keyamo, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is like a greedy man who leaves his sure meal in pursuit of a promised meal.

Keyamo said it was worrisome the opposition PDP would sacrifice their most loyal and surest base in all elections since the return to democracy in pursuit of numbers up North.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment on his Twitter handle the betrayal of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has shown symptoms of greediness.

The All Progressive Congress, APC, Chieftain said, “In desperation to win 2023 elections, @OfficialPDPNig sacrificed the surest & most loyal bases it has in pursuit of the numbers up North that it doesn’t have. It is symptomatic of a greedy man who leaves his sure meal in pursuit of a promised meal. It is a costly miscalculation.”

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, formed in 1999, had always had the majority of its votes in the Southern part of the country.

In all general elections, the PDP had always had the total majority of votes in the South-Eastern states and South-Southern states.

In the build-up to the party’s presidential elections, PDP, against popular calls for a presidency from the South voted for Atiku Abubakar, from Adamawa, as its presidential candidate for the 2023 general election.
