2023-24 NWFL season opener ends in goalless draw

The 2023-24 NWFL season will be played in an abridged format with group A and B consisting of 16 teams.

2023-24 NWFL season opener has ended in a goalless draw.

 

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Women’s Football League season opener between Ekiti Queens and Delta Queens ended in a fiercely contested goalless draw.

 

The encounter took place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.

The game was witnessed by football lovers, including the wife of the Ekiti State governor, Mr) Olayemi Oyebanji.

 

Also in attendance at the season opener was the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, NWFL Chairperson Nkechi Obi and the state Football Association chairman, Olu Oloworemo.

 

The 2023-24 NWFL season will be played in an abridged format with group A and B consisting of 16 teams.

 

In Group A are Naija Ratels, Nasarawa Amazons, Confluence Queens, Abia Angels of Abia State., Heartland Queens, Dannaz Ladies, Royal Queens, Adamawa Queens.

 

Group B, has Delta Queens, Lakeside Queens, Rivers Angels and Sunshine Queens, FC Robo Queens, Edo Queens,Ekiti Queens of Ekiti and Bayelsa Queens.

 

Delta Queens are the defending NWFL champions.
