Wizkid, Burna Boy and Asake are set to headline Afro Nation 2026 in Portugal.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Afrobeats superstars Wizkid, Burna Boy and Asake have been confirmed as headliners for the highly anticipated Afro Nation 2026 festival in Portugal.

The festival organisers announced the star-studded lineup in an official post on X (@AfroNation), describing the 2026 edition as a blend of global Afrobeats icons and fast-rising international talents.

Afro Nation 2026 will take place from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5 at the scenic Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, Portugal.

Recognised as one of the world’s biggest celebrations of Afrobeats, Amapiano and R&B, Afro Nation has grown into a global cultural movement since its launch.

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy will headline the opening night on July 3. Known for his fusion of Afrobeat, dancehall and global sounds, Burna Boy will share the stage with South African Amapiano star Tyla, whose rapid rise has positioned her as one of Africa’s most successful international acts.

Asake, famed for his high-energy performances and unique blend of Afrobeats, street pop and soulful melodies, will headline the second day of the festival on July 4.

Wizkid, one of Africa’s most influential music exports, is scheduled to close the three-day event on July 5, capping the festival with what organisers describe as a memorable finale.

Beyond the headliners, Afro Nation 2026 will feature a diverse lineup of global and African artists. American R&B singer Kehlani and rapper Gunna are listed as special guests, adding cross-genre appeal to the festival.

Nigerian stars including Olamide, Young Jonn, Darkoo, Wande Coal and Mavo are also billed to perform, underscoring the continued global expansion of Nigerian and African music.

Organisers disclosed that early-access tickets will go on sale on February 5, ahead of the general ticket release.

Founded in 2019 in Portugal by The Malachite Group, Afro Nation is an annual three-day festival celebrating African music, culture, fashion and food, while connecting the African diaspora worldwide. The festival has since expanded to countries such as Ghana, Puerto Rico, the United States and beyond.

Past Afro Nation headliners include Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, 50 Cent, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
