The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has called on the Catholic faithfuls to take back their country with their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in the 2023 election.
Newsonline reports that the former governor of Anambra State who is also a Catholic Church called on the church’s Lay faithfuls to sanctify the country and the world in general by voting for the rignt candidate in the 2023 election.
Peter Obi who was represented by his former commissioner for Environment, Ifedi Okenwa, spoke this at the 8th Bi-Annual National Convention of the Catholic Social Forum of the Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria, on Sunday.

Okenwa on behalf of the Labour Party presidential candidate reminded the over 70 million Lay faithfuls in the Catholic Church to, “like every Nigerian, stand up and take back their country.”
He added “that as the mission of the Laity Council is to “sanctity the World”, they should be the light for Nigeria by voting wisely at the 2023 General Election.”
He reminded the Catholic Lay faithfuls “of the Wonderful legacies of Peter Obi as Anambra State Governor and why he is the best for Nigeria at this moment in our history.”
The 8th Bi-Annual National Convention of the Catholic Social Forum of the Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria was attended by representatives of other major candidates and was chaired by High Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN.
Professor Pat Utomi was the guest speaker, while the Episcopal Chairman Conference of Catholic Bishops of Nigeria (CCBN) on Laity Affairs, Most REV Dr. John Ayah presented the Keynote speech.
