A former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adams Oshiomhole, has said the chances of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar are slim in the 2023 election.
Newsonline reports that Oshiomhole who is also a two-term former governor of Edo state said with twenty-eight governors behind Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling APC winning is guaranteed.
The former APC national chairman stated this on Friday while addressing state house correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Oshiomhole said his meeting with Buhari was to congratulate him on his commitment to handing over to an APC-led government come 2023.

Speaking on the chances of the presidential candidate, especially the APC and PDP presidential candidates, and how his party is preparing ahead of the 2023 election.
Oshiomhole said, “So if you ask me how we are doing, we are doing very well. Whereas the other [PDP] is now battling with five governors that backed out, and you find out how many governors they have, we have twenty-three.
“Now, if you add twenty-three to five, I am not saying the five are with us, but we have twenty-three with five. I guess that is twenty-eight. If you subtract twenty-eight from thirty-six, it means only eight governors, in fact, seven, because the other one in APGA isn’t there.
“So, while he [Atiku] has seven governors working for him, we have twenty-three working for us, and we have five who are neutral. You know, when you’re voting, when I was in ILO, you vote for, against, or you abstain. Abstinence is as good as voting against.”
