NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Police Command took Portable into custody on Tuesday due to his failure to settle a debt stemming from the purchase of a G-Wagon from a local car dealer.
It was gathered that Portable only paid N13 million of the N27 million vehicle price and neglected to pay the remaining N14 million.
Sources reported that Portable repeatedly claimed that the vehicle was faulty whenever the car dealer demanded payment of the balance.
When negotiations failed to resolve the matter, the car dealer reported it to the police, leading the Portable’s arrest on Tuesday afternoon, May 15.
Confirming the arrest, Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, stated, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”
A viral video captures the moment officers intercepted Portable and bundled him into a police vehicle after he tried to escape.
This comes one year after Portable acquired the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, two months after he purchased a Range Rover Sport.
