At Zimbwabwe Citizens Sell Toes In Dollars To Get Rich

At Zimbwabwe, Citizens sell toes in dollars to get rich as rush for instant wealth and getting away from economic problems intensify.

 

Newsonline reports that citizens of Zimbwabwe have resulted to selling of body parts including toes fro instant wealth and to get away from economic economic hardship.

The citizens of the South African nation that has one of the worst Human Development Index percentage across Africa are grappling with the effect of economic hardship and bad leadership that has marred the nation since Mugabe administration.

 

Ranked by World Bank as the poorest country in the South African region, Zimbwabwe has been grappling worst economic situation since the coming of Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa as president.

 

In a video, reportedly posted by a Zimbwabwe Journalist, Innocent Zikky, citizens of Zimbwabwe have resulted to quick means to solve their financial problems.

 

Lamenting in a post on his twitter, Zikky, said, “the trend has become the order of the day for most Zimbwabwe citizens.

In a video posted by Zikky, a male who had soled his toes, was showing how he has used the proceeds to buy a car and change his life.

 

According to Zikky, a toe sells between $10,000 to $40,000. Big toe sells for $40,000, while the middle toes and smallest toe sell for $20,000 and $10,000 respectively.

 

Zikky, said, ” In Zimbabwe, people have started selling their toes for thousands of dollars. This is due to the high cost of living and the failure of the government to create jobs. The toes are being bought at $40,000 dollars (N16m) While the smaller ones are at $20,000 dollars (N8m)”.

 

The buying foreign company has not been verified, however, the trend in selling of parts have become one of the human trafficking challenges in Africa.

 

In the video, a boy who lost all five toes, in bandage could be seen, celebrating car he bought from the illegal business.
