UNDP has opened 10 In-Person Internship Slots in Copenhagen to Support Global Talent Development.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering 10 in-person internship positions in Copenhagen, Denmark, for students and recent graduates eager to contribute to the future of talent development across the UN system.

The internships, hosted by UNDP’s Office of Human Resources (OHR) through its Talent Development Unit (TDU), form part of efforts to strengthen the organization’s learning culture under its “People for 2030” Strategy. The programme aims to equip UNDP’s global workforce with the skills needed to navigate rapid technological change, evolving work structures, and the demands of sustainable development.

UNDP said the initiative reflects its core belief that people remain its greatest asset. Interns will help enhance learning systems, design innovative training tools, and support career-development projects for staff working in more than 170 countries and territories. Participants will also receive a monthly stipend of roughly $1,000 (final amount confirmed upon recruitment) to offset living expenses in Copenhagen.

What Interns Will Do

Depending on their chosen track, interns will support key talent-development functions, including:

Communications

  • Producing graphics, videos, and presentations for learning programmes

  • Assisting with social media, internal platforms, and talent-focused podcasts

  • Supporting virtual events on MS Teams and Zoom

Programme Management and Design

  • Managing learner enrollment, reporting, and help-desk support

  • Conducting needs assessments and reviewing online learning content

Content Design and Delivery

  • Creating interactive e-learning modules based on adult-learning principles

  • Developing multimedia training materials and researching emerging learning technologies such as AI, VR, and AR

Learning Technology

  • Supporting data monitoring through MS Forms, Excel, and Power BI

  • Contributing to dashboard development and automated workflows

  • Helping manage external learning platforms

Eligibility and Requirements

UNDP seeks candidates with skills in leadership development, onboarding, learning technology, content design, communication, career development, or data and knowledge management.

Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate programme, or

  • Be in their final year of a bachelor’s programme, or

  • Have graduated within the past year and be able to start within 12 months of graduation.

Candidates must have strong IT skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, strong communication and organizational abilities, and fluency in English. Knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an advantage. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, HTML5, or e-learning authoring tools (Articulate 360, RISE, Captivate) is a plus.

Commitment to Diversity and Safety

UNDP emphasized its dedication to diversity, fairness, and a harassment-free work environment. The organization reiterated that it does not charge any fees at any stage of recruitment and that applicants may be considered for similar roles.

A Chance to Shape the Future of Work

UNDP says the internship offers more than on-the-job experience — interns will directly support the design and delivery of global learning and leadership strategies.

From building digital learning tools to supporting capacity-building programmes, selected interns will contribute to how thousands of UN personnel learn, lead, and serve communities worldwide.
