According to him, the Blues had a ‘decisive day’ in their attempt to lure Aubameyang, who is also a target for Manchester United, to Stamford Bridge.

Newsonline report that talkSPORT’s pundit said that talks between the club, Aubameyang and his advisors have been planned for Thursday afternoon as the Blues try to land the former Arsenal man.

Despite Chelsea’s optimism in striking a deal for the 33-year-old, Crook believes his first choice would be to stay at Barcelona – a feeling shared by Barca head coach Xavi.

Reports have suggested that United have also shown an interest in Aubameyang but Crook revealed that the Gabonese International only wants to play for a team in the Champions League to all-but rule United out of the equation.

Chelsea are looking to sign a striker having played two of their first matches deploying their new signing Raheem Sterling as a false nine.

Manchester are also keen on bringing in a striker this summer but it is obvious that the former Arsenal star would prefer a club in the Champions League.

Aubameyang left Arsenal in January after the North London side terminated his contract following a fall out with manager Mikel Arteta.
