1. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set 140 and above as the cut-off mark for 2022/23 admissions into universities across the country. The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a presentation at the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions on Saturday in Abuja.
2. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on Saturday said the 10th National Assembly would partner the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to change policies inhibiting the progress and development of the country. He thanked the President, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his colleagues in the Senate for supporting him to emerge Senate President.
3. Some citizens of Zamfara State, under the auspices of Zamfara Concerned Indigenes Forum, have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare full military action against bandits in the state, following the continued takeover of villages by bandits who kill and kidnap. The Forum claimed no fewer than 50 persons have been killed, and many others kidnapped.

Ejike Mbaka, has apologised on behalf of the bishops, priests and pastors for using the church of God as a political arena during the 2023 elections. Mbaka expressed sadness that the church was turned into a campaign centre and place of politicking.
6. President Bola Tinubu has departed for London, United Kingdom following the end of the two-day New Global Financial Pact Summit, held in Paris, France. Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, Dele Alake, in a statement, said President Tinubu, who was initially scheduled to return to Abuja on Saturday, decided to go to London, for a short private visit.
7. The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Benue State has hailed the decision by Governor Hyacinth Alia to retain and embrace the stand on the ban on open grazing of livestock in the state. The party made the commendation in a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Iortyom in Makurdi.
8. A former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has said there is no political relationship between him and the immediate past governor of the state, Emeka Ihedioha. Okorocha who spoke with a select group of journalists at his Spilbat mansion in Owerri, the state capital, said his relationship with Ihedioha had nothing to do with politics.
9. A 78-year-old man, Ojo Komolafe, has been sentenced to death by the Ondo State High Court for killing a school proprietor, Taofik Babalola. The convict, committed the offence on August 7, 2021, at Kajola community, in the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state. He was said to have shot the deceased while the latter slept.
10. Five children have been rescued from two suspected child traffickers in Auchi, Edo State on Friday. The children, who travelled unaccompanied, were said to have been on their way from Kaduna to Onitsha, Anambra State when they were nabbed in Auchi.
