1. The Federal Government is set to commence the trial of about 2,000 Boko Haram members arrested for participating in terror activities and has lined up eight judges to handle the special trial. The trial will take place in Kainji, Niger State, under a secure environment provided by a special security outfit, Operation Safe Corridor.
2. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja for Guinea-Bissau on Saturday, July 8, to attend the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

A Federal High Court in Kano has restrained the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) from inviting or harassing former governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, over the alleged dollar bribery videos. Justice A.M. Liman gave the order on Friday following an ex-parte motion filed by the former governor.

Justice Adamu Jauro wrote the lead judgment, which was read on Friday by Justice Emmanuel Agim.
