President Tinubu has recalled NTA DG Salihu Dembos and reversed recent appointments.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The decision, announced on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, reverses the management changes recently introduced at the state broadcaster.
Dembos, who was appointed DG in October 2023, had briefly vacated his position following the earlier reshuffle. He will now return to complete his three-year tenure.

Similarly, the President ordered the reinstatement of Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News. Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, will continue his tenure, which runs until 2027.
“The new directive effectively reverses the previously announced appointments of a director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises,” the statement read.
It will be recalled that in August, President Tinubu had approved a fresh management team for NTA, appointing:
Rotimi Richard Pedro (South-West) as Director-General
Karimah Bello (North-West) as Executive Director, Marketing
Stella Din (North-Central) as Executive Director, News
Sophia Issa Mohammed (North-East) as Managing Director, NTA Enterprises Limited
Tuesday’s decision cancels those appointments, reaffirming the President’s confidence in Dembos and Adewuyi to continue steering the organisation.
The Presidency noted that the move underscores Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening national broadcasting as a platform for unity, cohesion, and soft diplomacy.
