Pesident Tinubu has approved Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of Federal Fire Service.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially approved the appointment of Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the next Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS). His appointment takes effect from August 14, 2025, following the retirement of the current head, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to exit service after turning 60 on August 1, 2025.
The announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), which oversees appointments within the nation’s paramilitary agencies.

DCG Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to the top job. He began his firefighting career with the FCT Fire Service before transitioning to the Federal Fire Service, where he gradually rose through the ranks. Until his appointment, he served as the Deputy Controller-General in charge of Human Resources at the FFS headquarters.
Adeyemi has undergone extensive command and leadership training both locally and internationally. His qualifications are further strengthened by professional memberships and fellowships in notable institutions, including:

Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria
Chartered Institute of Treasury Management

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the CDCFIB also extended its deep appreciation to the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, for his outstanding service. Under his leadership, the Federal Fire Service recorded several notable reforms and operational improvements.
“Engr. Olola’s commitment and innovative contributions have positioned the Federal Fire Service for long-term efficiency and national relevance,” the Board said in its statement.

With his strong professional background and commitment to excellence, Adeyemi is expected to further modernize the Federal Fire Service and build on the legacy of his predecessor.
