Tayo Ayinde has backed SWAC for Asiwaju 2027 and reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Chief of Staff to the Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, has described the Southwest Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027 (SWAC) as a formidable political support group working towards the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Ayinde made the remarks during a strategic meeting with the Director-General of the pro-Tinubu group, Shehu Usman Sampam, who leads the movement popularly known as SWAC 4 ABAT Again 2027.

According to Ayinde, the group has demonstrated strong organisational capacity and commitment in promoting the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu across the South-West region. He noted that the movement’s grassroots engagement strategy aligns with the administration’s vision of fostering shared prosperity and national development.

The Lagos State chief of staff commended the group for its continued mobilisation efforts among Arewa communities living in the South-West, particularly for amplifying the achievements and policy direction of the Tinubu administration.

Ayinde also reiterated his personal support for Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027, urging members of the group to sustain their advocacy and political mobilisation across the region.

In his response, Sampam reaffirmed the commitment of SWAC to securing a second term for the president, expressing appreciation to Ayinde for what he described as consistent support for the organisation’s outreach and engagement programmes.

He said the group has been actively sensitising Arewa communities in the South-West on the benefits of the Renewed Hope policy framework and the administration’s development agenda.

The Southwest Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027 serves as an umbrella body representing Arewa communities across the six South-West states of Lagos State, Ogun State, Ondo State, Osun State, Oyo State, and Ekiti State.

Over the past six months, the group has intensified its political mobilisation efforts, positioning itself as one of the most visible Arewa-led support movements backing Tinubu’s re-election across the region.

Recent activities of the group include participation in events organised by the Lagos State Government to mark President Tinubu’s 74th birthday celebration, where members appeared in distinctive pro-Asiwaju attire at the Blue Roof Pavilion.

The event was coordinated through the office of the Special Adviser to the governor on Civic Engagement and Political and Legislative Matters, Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen.

In addition, SWAC members were recently seen in Ekiti State during the inauguration of 5,000 person-to-person canvassers in support of the second-term bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Thousands of Arewa community members reportedly attended the event, highlighting the growing influence of the group in political mobilisation efforts ahead of upcoming elections.

Observers say the activities of groups such as SWAC underscore the early build-up of political alliances and grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
